My new backpack

If you know me you´ll know that I have a slight obsession with bags. The black leather shoulder/satchel variety is my poison of choice, and I like to carry a lot of things with me, something which naturally leads to stiff and weary shoulders every now and then. I have known that I should own a backpack for a while already, but I kept avoiding it because I could not for the life of me think of one I could get that wouldn´t make me feel like a was back in elementary school. I refused to wear a backpack when I was in university as well, so it is safe to say that my backpack-avoidance have been going on for quite a while now.

However, two weeks ago I stumbled across a blog post that made things click for me. Dead Fleurette wrote about her search for the perfect rucksack, and from going through the links left in the comments on that post I realized what I wanted. Black leather (duh), silver hardware, simple and a little bit slouchy. After an evening of browsing eBay and Etsy I found it, and a few days of discussing it back and forth with myself I placed my order.

I didn´t feel particularly modelesque today, so I let my chair be the model du jour.

I found it at an Etsy store called BlueDrop and I am very happy with the seller. The bag is hand made in Greece and I could track it every step of the way, and it took about a week to get to me. It is ridiculously light and fits all my everyday essentials, and best of all, my shoulders will be very happy to get a break from the heavy shoulder bags and satchels. Oh, and let´s not forget – it looks pretty cool too. I´m in love!

  2. Goody for you, you’re in backpack heaven!

That is a very beautiful bag, I wonder if they have it in brown… shoot, I still need my new computer! Really, between the style inspiration I get from you, Maria and Aya (strawberrykoi.com/blog) it’s a wonder I have any money left. At least I am determined to be the most stylish pan-handler ever.

More kudos for your bag, it’s so cute!

    • I think they do have it in brown in fact, and if they don´t have one available then I´m sure it wouldn´t hurt to ask! I also think a saw a tiny red suede one that was really cute, although small backpacks are still a wee bit too Spice Girls for me ;)

Oh, I´d hate to get between you and your new computer! Get the computer first, it is so much more fun to get the smaller things when the big things are in place. I´m trying to reel myself in a bit again, seeing as I´m visiting Maria in three weeks. That girl has the ability to leave a crater in my bank account the size of Texas.

  3. Ooh…I’m loving the backpack trend! :D Yours is gorgeous, btw (Black leather! Hand made in Greece! *squealsandclapshands*) I’ve actually had a leather backpack myself for a while now…but I’ve been a bit leery of advertise-blogging that little fact since everyone seems to be into shoulder bags. Glad that things are changing around now <3

PS: Please model it soon!! ;)

    • I promise to take a photo! I should have done it already, but then my closet exploded inside my closet/office-room and I was afraid you would think I was messy and unorganized, when in fact.. there was an explosion.. in my closet..

      True story! ;)
