December purchases

December purchases

Time for the last purchase roundup of 2012! I picked up a few necessities this month as well as one or two little things from the Christmas sales. All in all I think I did pretty good, but let’s be honest – Christmas happened and it would be silly to buy a bunch of things for myself on top of the presents. On the bright side I did some serious culling in December. I got rid of most of my accessories (hadn’t worn them in years), 70% of our bookshelf, a lot of kitchenware and even another bag of clothes. We’re also giving away all of our DVDs, seeing as we only ever watch Netflix and our one-shelf collection of movies on BluRay. Progress!

1. Black skirt, Lindex. Simple, black above-the-knee skirt. I wear black skirts all the time but lacked one in this length. Swishy, neutral, goes with everything.

2. Long black sheer shirt-dress, Lindex. Weak sale moment, but I will definitely wear it. I have a weakness for black and swooshy, after all.

3. Thermal underwear. Because I only had one set and it is winter and I am cold. Not even a “good” purchase, this was a “must buy or suffer frost damage” purchase.

4. Dior quick dry top coat and IsaDora Second Nail basecoat. Because I ran out!

5. Metal buckle bracelet. Another one from the sales, but I really like it. I love bracelets, but I can’t wear anything that jingles. The sound would drive my colleges crazy!

6. Makeup bag, Makeup Store. My old one no longer looked presentable and had to go to the great big makeup bag resting place in the sky. The one I bought is actually a version in black and gray leopard, but I couldn’t find a photo of that one. It is nice and roomy and oh-so trashy-glamorous.

7. iPad Mini sleeve (not pictured, link here!). I would hate to get the Mini scratched up when I carry it around with me, so I bought a custom sleeve for it from Farragobags on Etsy. The seller was very fast and super friendly, and the sleeve is absolutely gorgeous. I would definitly recommend buying from him to anyone.

And that was it! Here’s to even better shopping habits in 2013 :)

    i always enjoy these posts.
i already told you on instagram that you inspired me to get rid of stuff other than clothes. i still live with my parents so i dont own many things like kitchen stuff yet. but i had so many purses, belts, jewelery, shoes and room decoration shit (even though i´ve never been an “im decorating my room girly-girl”) that where only collecting dust. i find that chlothes and shoes are more easy to get rid of because you can give it to friends or donate it. but i dont know what to do with the other stuff. i dont want to throw it away but im also too lazy to sell it online…

oh and something else: i love the skirt, i am looking for the perfect black, swingy skirt and im in love with the one you showed in this post: http://majahuse.com/fantasy-shopping/
any idea where i could find one?

oh and happy new year! \^.^/

Happy New Year to you too, JuJu!

I know the salvation army here sells a lot of glassware and kitchen items, so I am giving them the things that are in good shape. The rest will have to be thrown away, though. I never have the patience for selling online either, giving away is much less hassle!

I have a similar skirt that I bought from Zara, but that was probably two years ago. It is funny because it really isn’t that had to find black skirts on the high street, but I find it IS hard to find one with an okay fabric and the right cut, at least around here. I ended up buying that Zara skirt in three colors out of the sheer joy of finding something that fit right, wasn’t too short and didn’t act like a dust magnet!

Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed your December purchases, I really like the black dress shirt. It’s really a good idea to do a purchase roundup, helps keeping track I guess… Maybe I’ll borrow the post idea for 2013, if it’s OK with you ;)

Of course, go right ahead! It would be fun to see what other people’s shopping habits are like, especially the minimalist crowd. It would help me as well, keep me on my toes!

      Happy New Year Kali :)

Smart sensible buys. I’m in the market for a new makeup bag for work, but have no clue what I’m looking for. These posts are so interesting. I didn’t add much this fall, but what I added was really well thought out.

I really had no idea either, but even if I did I doubt “plush leopard print” would be it! I couldn’t resist it though, I love it.
