I have realized lately that my little depression chronicles (read part 1 and part 2) felt unfinished. I wrote about my experience with depression pre treatment and during treatment, but I have yet to write a single word about my experience with the after. It is just an important part of the story after all, and seeing as this is now my third “after” it sure is about time that I write about it.
After hearing rave reviews about the Paula’s Choice range of skin care products for what seems like forever – especially from the wonderful Maria – I finally got to test them out for myself when The Boyfriend bought me the Skin Recovery range (adlink) for my birthday back in October. I have never been a person who has fussed a lot with their skin care, and up until then I had been a three steps kind of girl: eye makeup remover, cleanser, moisturizer, done. I have very dry and sensitive skin, and have never been very prone to acne at all except for the occasional breakout around my chin, but I do suffer from dry patches as well as black spots on my nose. However, after hearing so many good things about these products I was ready to try a proper regimen.
A few of you have asked me to write a post about photography, how I configure my camera, and how I take my photos. It goes without saying that I’m no professional photographer, but I will do my best to write this little beginner’s guide.
It might seem a bit strange to devote a whole post to the act of going shopping. After all, all you really have to do is go to a few shops and make sure to bring your credit card, and voilà, before you know it you are shopping! I think you have gathered by now that this is not quite my style of doing things, though. Let’s face it, I’m much too anal for that. I try to avoid bad purchases the best I can, and I try my best to go for quality over quantity. My goal is to have a closet where everything has a use and fits together – shortly put, a closet where everything looks like it belongs to the same person. This usually requires a bit more planning than just leaving my house, credit card in hand.
It has now been three months since I wrote my blog post On Depression, so I feel like it is about time to give you a little update on how I’m doing. After all, part of the reason why I wrote it was to make depression seem a little less severe and scary, so it seems only fair that I give you an update on how things are going three months down the road. Now, before I continue, I think I need to clarify – depression IS severe and scary. It can feel frightening on the verge of paralyzing, and a lot of the time it disguises itself so well that you end up thinking that this is just the way you are, they way your personality is, and the way things will always be. I hope I managed to explain in my previous post on the subject that this is not the way it has to be, but in case you don’t quite believe me I thought I would write a little about how my experience has been since I started treatment.
