Week in instagrams #10

What the what, two instagram posts in a row? I know, I know! I have a good – no, great – reason, though! You see, I have run into a bit of a kerfuffle. If you dig through my archives, you will notice something about my old blog posts, the ones posted before January 2012 to be exact. They have no images. All gone! So, while I patiently re-add images to all of my old blog posts, things will be a little quiet around here. Why did I ever decide to run an image-based blog, again? Should have looked into writing haikus instead!

1. A picture taken in Bergen during a late-night walk around town. Cities often look better in the dark, don’t you think?

2. Cottage cheese are fresh berries after a workout. It is the best thing ever! Well, for weekdays anyway. On Fridays, chocolate and potato chips is the best thing ever.

3. The first day of May was so nice and warm that we carried our picnic-basket up into a nearby park and had a little barbecue. I even took a nap in the sunshine. I am so happy we did this, because it has rained and snowed (!!) every day since.

4. Another go at the whole bold lip thing. This is my favorite red!

5. Speaking of May 1st – these coins went out of circulation as of May 1st, but you can still donate them to charity, so that’s what I did.

6. My friend Maren went and borrowed another poodle, so now she has two. Look at them! My life is severely lacking in poodles compared to hers.

7. eBay sent me more kohl liners. Yes, sent me, I swear I didn’t buy them! Ok, fine, I’m lying. No more kohl liners.

8. I finished reading the introvert book (read it, it is terrific) and started reading “Thinking, fast and slow” by Daniel Kahneman. Have I mentioned how much I love my Kindle?

9. I am addicted to berries these days – I just finished a pack of raspberries, and there’s still one pack of raspberries and four packs of blueberries in our fridge. I am allergic to nearly all fruits, so anything healthy that isn’t salad is welcomed with open arms. Three cheers for berry season!

Week in instagrams #9

It is Sunday and it is time for another Week in Instagrams! It seems like to weather gods and been listening to my incessant whining, because we’ve finally got real, proper spring here in Bergen. Bumblebees have been observed, green leaves are everywhere, and my lung capacity has decreased to that of an 80 year-old. Oh pollen, you always seem to take me by surprise. This of course means that jogging season is over until the end of summer, but there’s always treadmills! …And I’m derailing. This is a picture post, after all.

1. This is the Complex Geometries dress that I showed you in the post right below this one. I couldn’t help but wear it three times this week. It’s that good!

2. My tea stash. I need a wide variety of teas throughout the work day.

3. My new bag and I, getting ready to go to a Sony event on Wednesday.

4. On Friday evening Marius and I went to see The Avengers, and I decided to leave my kohl-eyed comfort zone in favor of – gasp – lip stick. I can tell that it looks cool, but it is just so impractical to me. I eat and drink all the time, which means that the color stays on for no time at all!

5. I love my tote bag.

6. On Saturday I visited Maren and her toy poodle Fie. Fie didn’t like getting her hair done, but a poodle’s gotta do what a poodle’s gotta do.

7. Maren travels quite a bit through her job and she bought me this giant, magical, duty-free megapack of Smash. I feel like I’ve become some sort of weird, unofficial Smash spokeswoman – I swear, I don’t eat it as often as it must seem through my blog!

8. Lovely Sunday weather. We didn’t even need jackets, and went for a long walk that ended with some quality Kindle-time on a park bench.

9. …But then pollen got the best of me and I had to hide inside. I am currently reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking, and being a huge introvert I am just nodding my head through the whole thing. I love it!

Week in instagrams #8

An extra large week in Instagrams this Sunday, seeing as I didn’t post one last week. I just couldn’t bear to see two “Week in Instagrams” posts in a row!

1. A necklace that I ordered from Etsy – very Bellatrix Lestrange don’t you think? I like it, it is small and made of white bronze and is just the right amount of creepy. I’ve worn it nearly every day since I received it.

2. My new HTC One X smart phone. I got it through my job to review, how great is that? This baby is fantastic!

3. One day our apartment was so cold I had to sit on the oven for a little while. Is it spring yet?

4. Buffalo platform sneakers – they’re back, apparently! Personally, I think I’ll pass.

5. My parents were in town for one day this week, and my mom and I did a little shopping. This sweater was too cute to pass up!

6. Fun at the book store.

7. Marius and I traveled to Oslo this weekend to see Ricky Gervais do stand-up comedy. Not to brag, but I’m getting really good at this packing thing!

8. Marius, however, seems to think I’m a dude. He ordered our plane tickets and this is what happened.

9. The eye liners that I carry with me every. Single. Day. Always prepared in case of a kohl-liner emergency!

10. A photo of Luna and I that I found in my photo booth folder. I miss that little bundle of fur!

11. A glass of cava makes nerding so much more enjoyable, don’t you think?

12. I love watching the sun rise on my way to work.

13. This week marked the start of one of the most difficult trials we’ve ever had here in Norway. It is so hard to go about your daily life and at the same time read about the horrible details of the events that took place on July 22nd last year. I took this photo sometime at the end of July, and it shows the flowers that people left here in Bergen to commemorate the the victims of the attacks. It is hard to describe how collectively heartbroken we are, as a nation, so I will leave that to people who are more eloquent than I am.

14. Mandatory self portrait time.

15. Earlier today, right before we left Oslo, we had coffee at a place with the most terrific retro interior. How cool is this jukebox? If I lived in Oslo, this is where I’d go for coffees.

P.S: I seem to have lot the images for the posts that were published before 2012. I will fix it as soon as I have time :)

Week in Instagrams #7

This will be the first week in a long time where the title of my Week in Instagrams post isn’t a lie – Instagram for Android has officially launched this week! I am completely hooked of course, but then again I have been waiting for this for ages. I am maja_piraja if you would like to follow me.

1. This is what the weather was like in Bergen last Sunday – freezing cold, but definitely spring-like. I am more than slightly embarrassed by how much space I devote to discussing the details of my local weather on this blog, but I tell myself that it is a very Norwegian thing to do and that it is completely natural.

2. I thought this only happened in movies, but boy was I wrong – this seems to be the contents of a man’s closet, thrown onto the ground from a window. So dramatic!

3. A snapshot taken from the plane on my way to Molde.

4. Say hi to Luna, my furry little sister parents’ dog!

5. Snow is no excuse to not go for a run. My neon pink Nimbuses are invincible!

6. Easter eggs that my sister and I painted a few years ago. We were supposed to paint new ones this year but we never got around to it!

7. This is where I spend most of my time at my parents’ house: in front of the fireplace.

8. This is from the hike that my mom and I went on a few days ago. A totally postcard-worthy landscape, don’t you agree?

9. The mandatory self portrait. I am so happy that the awkward growing-out-bangs period is over – no more hair in my face!

Good Friday

I don’t know if I mentioned it, but I traveled to Molde on Wednesday evening to visit my family for easter. If the snowfall in Bergen was considered a bit crazy, it was nothing compared to what met me here in Molde – it could might as well have been Christmas! My mom and I have to go for a hike somewhere every time I visit, and as you can see the weather was nothing short of perfect today. Most of the people we met were on skis, which looked a lot more practical than being on foot. And let’s not even mention poor Luna, standing a measly foot tall from the ground! She’s tough though, and seemed to enjoy herself despite the fact that I had to spend some good five minutes picking lumps of snow out of her fur before getting into the car on our way back.

For the rest of the evening we’re planning to relax, eat easter chocolate and drink red wine. Not exactly what you’d call action-packed, but then again, I’ve never been an “action-packed” kind of girl. For me, this is the perfect way to celebrate easter.

How are you spending your easter weekend?
